Planning a destination wedding in the Caribbean is extremely exciting. However, it can be stressful and costly as well.
Expectedly, there is so much that goes into planning the perfect destination wedding event. From hiring chefs, renting a venue, table and chair rentals, travel expenses, excursions, and on, and on.
Thankfully, hiring a wedding decorator is not necessary. It is something I certainly did not want to do as It was way outside of my budget.

Caribbean Wedding Decor Pieces
1. Caribbean Wedding Decor: Vintage Solar Lantern
I chose a more vintage/classic Caribbean wedding theme. With this intention, I decided to add the perfect vintage feel by using the Vintage Solar Lantern which comes in a set of 2. I purchased 2 sets and hung them on 4 tree branches throughout the location. They are solar powered and looked stunning when lit at night time also.
2. Livinlarge Solar Lantern
Decorating the bride and groom table for our destination wedding was super simple. Truthfully, destination wedding decor does not have to be complicated or expensive. As a matter of fact, my family got it done on the morning of the event.
To illustrate just how simple it was to achieve a beautiful bride and groom table, here are the exact steps we took to accomplish this:
- Cover a 6 ft table with a white table cloth
- Cut a branch from a coconut tree and use a couple pieces of wood to secure it in front of the table(zip ties work great).
- Add some flowers
- Finally, place the Pearlstar Outdoor Solar Lantern with Handle and Livinlarge Solar Lantern on/around the table however you see fit.
My husband and I LOVED how our reception table turned out!
3. Solar Lantern With Handle
Isn’t this Pearlstar Outdoor Solar Lantern with Handle not the cutest destination wedding decor accessory?! I chose a variety of solar lanterns for my event. This solar lantern in particular added so much charm to my destination wedding and is gorgeous when lit at night time as well.
4. Serra Flower Artificial Flowers
You can’t go wrong with flowers for a Caribbean wedding. I used the Serra Flower Artificial Flowers Rose 32pcs Silk Mix in every crevice of my wedding. From decorating the wooden arch, the wedding cake, and table tops.
These flowers were a MUST-have because you can place them anywhere and they make a huge difference.
Additionally, using real flowers would be a flop as they’d all shrivel and look horrible in the heat. However, these flower decorations were durable and added extreme beauty to my wedding.
BTW, do you peep the mangoes hanging off of that mango tree?! They were so delicious, and free! One of the many reasons why I love the Caribbean!!!
The Caribbean Islands are laden with free fruits and vegetables.
5. Tea Lights Candles
What is a wedding reception without candles?! We placed the Homemory 12-Pack Timer Flameless Tea Lights Candles on all of the guests tables, and as you can imagine they added a romantic feel and were lovely at night time.

The second photo, is of my husband and I after we said “I do”.
In this post I’ve shared personal shots from my wedding in Toco, Trinidad and Tobago. Consequently, I hope that I have inspired you to choose your own decorations and to go for your dream of having a destination wedding.
In all honesty, choosing to opt out of paying for a Wedding Decorator saved me thousands. Instead, I got to spend on making memories with my loved ones through purchasing local cuisine, excursions, and staying at amazing Air Bnbs. As a result, my guests and family made memories that will last forever.
In conclusion, If you are thinking about having a Caribbean Wedding, my only advice would be to go for it!
